MOTION DETECTORS

Home security motion sensors are sophisticated and fascinating pieces of Security Alarm technology.

Passive Infrared Motion Detectors or PIR’s form part of most advanced security systems installed in both residential and business situations.  These sensors detect the infrared energy emitted by the human body when it enters the field of view of the detector sensing a sharp increase in infrared energy.  It is not set off by slow changes such as a room heating up during daylight hours or cooling down at night.

Electralarm supplied passive Infrared detectors are designed to trigger a security alert when the Infrared energy changes very quickly and not for gradual change in the area covered by the sensor.

Infrared Motion Detectors are not set off by someone walking past a window as glass is not very transparent to infrared light.

Sensors vary widely in quality and cost and can even allow for the movement of small animals without triggering the Security Alarm System.

GLASS BREAK DETECTORS

Electralarm supplies a full range of Glass Break Detectors that may be tuned to react only to the specific frequency of glass breaking activating only when a specific pattern or wave form is sensed.

Electralarm© supplied Glass Break Detector advantage is that the burglar is detected before entering the premises. The type of glass must be considered for best protection. Some detectors are designed to work only with certain types of glass which may affect the range and performance of the detector.
